Blandford Choral society is looking for new members to help celebrate 70 years of singing with an exciting programme of music including a Carol Concert at\u00a0Blandford Forum\u2019s parish church,\u00a0St Peter and St Paul Church, and a performance at the Free Expression festival next year, both under the auspices of their new directors\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Richard Hall and Richard Marchant. There will also be a wonderful opportunity to sing with the Dorset Guild of Choirs during the spring term.<\/p>\n
The Blandford Choral Society was formally established in 1946, which means that they will be celebrating their seventieth birthday during this musical year (the choir year is the same as the school year).\u00a0Prior to that time, however, evidence suggests that it existed in a more informal way, meaning that it could now actually be 140 years old!\u00a0It would be wonderful to celebrate such an event with as many people from Blandford and the surrounding area as possible, so if you would be interested in joining, please come along!\u00a0The first two rehearsals are free to give you a chance to form an opinion!\u00a0We welcome people of any age who enjoy singing and would like to develop their voices.\u00a0There are no auditions, and everyone is encouraged to \u201chave a go\u201d.\u00a0Rehearsals are held in Blandford St Mary Primary School, every Monday evening between 7.30 and 9.30pm.<\/p>\n
