Calendar of Events for 2015<br \/>\n(<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">updated July 2015<\/span>)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As from September, unless otherwise stated, all events will be held at the new <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Stourpaine Village Hall<\/strong><\/span> starting at 7.30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Details of the events are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday\u00a0<strong>14th August<\/strong> \u2013 Cheese and Wine with a quiz and fun with straw at Durweston Hall<strong>. <\/strong>Members free, non-members <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a310<\/span><\/strong>, tickets from Jan Palmer<\/li>\n<li>Saturday,\u00a0<strong>12th September<\/strong>\u2013 Annual Show starting at 2 p.m. with the potato weigh in.\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Chris Lewis<\/span><\/strong> and <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Jan<\/span> <\/strong>will be this year\u2019s contacts\u00a0(<em>see posters when they are up for timing<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Friday\u00a0<strong>9th October<\/strong>\u2013 a demonstration of trug making given by\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Carl Sadler<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Friday <strong>23<sup>rd<\/sup> October<\/strong> \u2013 a twilight visit to <strong>Abbotsbury Gardens<\/strong> \u2013 see below for details<\/li>\n<li>Friday\u00a0<strong>13th November<\/strong>\u2013 a demonstration of winter hanging baskets and primrose balls given by<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong> The Gold Club<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Friday,\u00a0<strong>11th December<\/strong>\u2013 Christmas social evening, including music by\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>David Andrews<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>Annual Stourpaine Show<\/strong> will be held on Saturday 12<sup>th<\/sup> September.\u00a0 Entry schedules will be available Monday 10<sup>th<\/sup> August from White Horse stores, <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Jan Palmer<\/span><\/strong> or <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Chris Lewis<\/span><\/strong> at Wyoming, Havelins (left hand bungalow down the gravel track opposite <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Jean Chandler<\/span><\/strong>\u2019s house).<\/p>\n<p>There are lots more classes this year, so read the form carefully so as not to be disappointed.\u00a0 This year entries will be invited from members, residents of Stourpaine <u>and their families<\/u>.\u00a0 Bring your grandchildren to have some fun with <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Peter Jones<\/span><\/strong>, retired Clayesmore teacher.\u00a0 Between 1.30 \u2013 2.30pm, <strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Peter<\/span> <\/strong>will help them make \u201c<span style=\"color: #993366;\"><em><strong>A Vegetable Sculpture<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u201d \u2013 all material will be supplied.<\/p>\n<p>All adult entries will be <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">25p<\/span> <\/strong>per exhibit and forms and fees must be submitted by <strong>7 p.m., 9<sup>th<\/sup> September.\u00a0 <\/strong>External judges are brought in for all classes except the children\u2019s sculpture which will be judged by two committee members.<\/p>\n<p>Also, we are planning a twilight visit to\u00a0<strong>Abbotsbury<\/strong><strong> Illuminated Gardens<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0October.
