Now is the time to get to grips with some serious pruning, but don\u2019t get too carried away! Lots of plants need their annual prune now, including roses, dogwoods and many clematis.<\/p>\n

If pruning is a bit of a mystery to you, look it up or alternatively phone Pete<\/strong>, Barry<\/strong> or Godfrey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pruning not only helps control the size and shape of plants, but also encourages better flower production.<\/p>\n

  1. Lift and divide congested perennials, such as hostas.<\/li>\n
  2. Divide clumps of snowdrops.<\/li>\n
  3. Protect emerging perennial shoots from slugs.<\/li>\n
  4. Sow sweet peas and hardy annuals in pots to plant outside later on.<\/li>\n
