Highgrove Visit

You have all been told previously of our intention to visit Highgrove, sometime in June. I cannot be precise as the booking line for 2013 doesn’t open until February when they will contact me.
For the visit to be viable we need 25 people, maximum for the coach, at a cost of around £40 each. (£25 entry & £15 for the Coach).
We currently have 12 names, so halfway there. We need a nearly full coach for the trip to be viable.

If you are interested at all, please contact Jan on 01258 453 470 ASAP.

Christmas Shopping Event – Castle Gardens Sherborne

An evening which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
We started with tea& coffee in the Restaurant conservatory. Due to last year’s poor turnout they moved us to smaller, cosier accommodation, and we were soon splitting the sides.
So much so that they had to search for more chairs due to high numbers. We had a short talk by Malc, one of the Gold Team Speakers, who spoke of colour in the garden at winter. He then went on to explain the differences between the fir trees used for Christmas Trees. When this was finished, we enjoyed the Christmas display and shopped. Maggie Stainer was there to meet us all, as she lives a few roads away and invited us back to her new home, for a drink and festive nibbles. This was very welcome and enjoyed by all who came!
Thank you Maggie & Frank.

Shaston Road – Pothole

DSC00839I am pleased to advise that DCC repaired this pothole on 24 December 2012 before lunchtime! Be careful on Shaston Road as there is a deepening pothole, which has water coming out of it and is getting worse...DSC00840
