Dorset Police – Suspicious Activity

Good afternoon,

We have had a report this morning from a rural property in the Shaftesbury Rural area of suspicious vehicle at the entrance to their property on Monday evening.

The owner has reported this today as they have found a plait in the mane of one of the horses.

As North Dorset horsewatch, we have no evidence that suggests plaiting is used to mark horses for theft as we receive regular reports of plaiting but so far this year, there has only been one reported theft of horse in the whole of Dorset and that had no links to plaiting.

However, we would like to take this opportunity to remind all horse owners and rural residents to remain alert and to log details of any suspicious vehicles or people they see in the area.
These details can be called in on 101 or if a crime is in progress then 999.

The Secretary of State directs that any person who submitted written representations to the Local Planning Authority concerning the proposal at application stage may attend the Hearing and, at the Inspector’s discretion, give their views. Facilities for people with disabilities are available at the venue. Please contact the department if you have any specific concerns.

The Appellant’s and Council’s statements and comments will be available for inspection at the Council Offices, although it is recommended that you telephone 01258 484220 to check the availability of statements before coming to inspect them.

STOURPAINE PARISH COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

A casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for Stourpaine Parish Council following the resignation of Cllr Louise Webb.

Rule 8 (1) of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities)

(Amendment) Rules 1986 provides that if by Tuesday 29th December 2015 (14 working days from the date of this notice), a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by cooption.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than Friday 4th March 2016.

Dorset County Council – Youth Services Consultation

Local authority announces plans to cease funding 22 youth centres to save £1m.

As part of a six week engagement on the proposed changes to youth services in Dorset between 15 September and 27 October, young people, local communities and organisations across Dorset were asked to help shape the future of youth services by telling the Community Partnerships what was available in their local area and what was important to them.   There is now a public consultation running from 17 November to 16 December on a proposal to change the way youth services are provided and your views are needed.
