Alert from Dorset Police

Online Puppy Scam

Blandford SNT have been made aware of an online scam concerning the sale of puppies.  When the interested party contacts the breeder to purchase the puppy, the breeder states that they have recently moved to Scotland and due to the distance the puppy will be couriered down to them.  The money for the courier has to be paid up front and then when the buyer parts with the cash, the breeder becomes non-contactable and the puppy never arrives.

We have contacted the advertising webpage to advise them of this scam and they have removed the offending adverts.

When purchasing puppies, or any animals, make sure you use a reputable agent, always ask to see the parents of the animal and don’t part with any money unless you are completely happy.  If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you become suspicious regarding any related adverts, please don’t hesitate to contact Dorset Police on 101 or Trading Standards

Kind Regards
