Your new recycle for Dorset recycling and rubbish collection service
starts the week of Monday 10 June 2013. This coming leaflet explains how it will
work. If you feel the containers will not meet your household’s needs, you
must contact the council no later than 28 February.

Garden waste collection is a costed option; Container Annual fee:

  • 240-litre wheelie bin – £35 per year
  • 120-litre woven plastic bag – £25 per year

Broadband Update – January 2013

DEFRA
Indications are that DEFRA will advise on funding before the month is out.

Leo Hughes has confirmed on 15 January that “DT11 have the broadband funding approved”. There have been no recent updates in the DT11 Forum website or the North Dorset Broadband website.

STOURPAINE OPEN GARDENS

The Stourpaine Gardening Club committee have decided to have another go at opening members gardens in aid of charity.

To give everyone plenty of notice, as it can be hard work getting your garden up to scratch, or you may have an area you want to re-develop. The plan is to hold the event over a weekend in June 2014, in conjunction with a Flower Festival in The Church.

All members living in the village will be approached to open their garden; members living outside the village will be approached to marshal and assist with refreshments.

Pete will be looking for volunteers to help him with the organisation as I, Jan, will be assisting Fran with the Flower Festival.
